2. How We Use Your Information

3. Taxpayer Consent and Authorization
In accordance with IRS requirements for Electronic Return Originators, we obtain explicit client authorization before submitting any electronic filing on your behalf. This authorization process includes:
Written or electronic confirmation of the information to be filed
Your review and approval of all return details before submission
Retention of your authorization record for a minimum of three (3) years, consistent with IRS Publication 1345 requirements
We will never file a return or submit any document to the IRS on your behalf without first receiving your explicit approval of the information contained in that filing.
4. How We Protect Your Information
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information:
Access Controls
Client data is accessible only to authorized personnel directly involved in your filing
All staff with access to taxpayer information receive data security training consistent with IRS Publication 4557 guidelines
Access is granted on a need-to-know basis only
Transmission Security
Our website uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS) for all data transmitted through our online forms
Client communications are conducted through business-secured email at support@bksaccountingservices.com
Tax filings are transmitted to the IRS exclusively through the IRS Modernized e-File (MeF) system using our authorized EFIN credentials
Data Storage
Client records are stored in password-protected, access-controlled systems
We do not store sensitive data (EINs, VINs, financial details) on public-facing servers or unsecured platforms
Physical records, where applicable, are stored in locked, access-restricted facilities
Incident Response

We retain client records, including tax information and authorization documents, for a minimum of three (3) years from the date of filing, consistent with IRS Publication 1345 requirements for Electronic Return Originators. After the retention period, records are securely destroyed using methods appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Request a copy of the information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal retention obligations
Withdraw consent for future filings at any time (note: this does not affect filings already submitted to the IRS)
Our services are intended solely for business clients and are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
